TOPIC: A question of cloth?

A question of cloth? 14 years 1 month ago #14057

I have torn out the floor of my 61 Ski Bird and when I got the boat i knew the transom needed replacing as the dismantling had already begun, what I am wondering is should I use the chop strand and matt cloth or should I use a heavy oz. cloth? or both to rebuild the transom? Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

cheers, Mike

You should read the section on the different fabrics and how they're used in the fiberglass tutorial on the home page. It will probably answer any questions you have.
