Old Merc was restored by Josh at Dicks Marine in Fox Lake IL.


Photo is reminiscent of 1956 Boat Show at the old Chicago Amphitheater.

I usually restore boats and motors to use them. I wonder if I'd put gas and oil in that motor and start it up? I don't think so.

I agree. That restoration is museum quality but these guys show and then go. Suggested he take up to the Tomahawk AOMC meet this summer.


Mikes plan was to repower “OVERKILL” with the Marathon.


Says now he is rethinking his plan, but he will run that motor.

Yeah! They are pretty.


When I show Mama Mia! the old Merc often draws more interest than the boat. And many women seem to marvel its beauty.


I learned we owe its classy good looks to this vintage appliance and tell the story in an old post.
