Working on my Glasspar Seafair, trying to put the windows and hardware together. This piece goes behind the sliding side cabin windows. The felt is worn and degrading. doesn't look like there is a way to slide in new felt. Is replacement trim like this available?

Don't know why those photos turned sideways and I can't figure out how to turn them, but you get the idea.

I wonder if an automotive repair shop or a common glass replacement business would know a source if shown a sample??
I turned your pictures for you. Hopefully I turned them the right way! Hee-hee-hee

It's the same type of stuff used on cars. Go to:

www.restorationspecialties.com/

Check out page 13 and see if anything is close.

Thanks for that resource, Stripgear! Very helpful to see whats out there. I found this that looks closer to what I need.

Comes in an 8 ft section. I only need 2. Maybe some of us Seafair restorers could split one somehow?

Do you need the hole channel, or just the felts? I restored my cabin windows over the winter. The felts generally slide out of the window channels for easy replacement. Aside from automotive suppliers, window and door suppliers offer endless options as part repairing legacy home windows. You have understand your precise width of felt base, the height of the felt pile and whether you want the wiper strip in the middle or not. You can also search 'window sweeper', or 'window channels and sweepers'
