Rounding a curve on restoration of a 58 Seaflite and looking for suggestions on replacing the chrome looking panel on the sides of the hull.

I'm thinking of some type of automotive mylar?

I think that would work. Probably the easiest to install and not have to worry about the finish.

you can purchase a chrome or brushed aluminum look vinyl wrap product fairly cheap. with a little education on Youtube you can easily do it yourself. I am interested in how well the knifeless system works shown below.

When I did mine, probably about 15 yrs ago now I got the original material from Bob Beers aka Mr Aurora. he tracked down the original manufacturer, I believe in Chicago. If you want the real deal google Mr Aurora if he's still around, he could send you in the right direction
