TOPIC: 1960 Glasspar Seafair Sedan

Good example of an original 60 Sedan I saw at Tavares some years back.

Wrap around helm panels and gunnel pockets all match deck color.




The seat boxes were added and I think the Glasspar embossed chairs are later than 60.


Notice nonskid surface is applied rather than molded.

Out of San Antonio so probably a CA boat.


Spray rails look like new, so she was likely stored inside over the years.

In the last picture you posted, looking at the bunks it looks like the cushions are sitting on top of plywood bases, like they are separate. I was under the impression the cushions themselves had plywood bases that the fabric wrapped around and then got stapled to. As my cushions are gone all I have (thankfully) are the plywood bases and they have a zolatone finish underneath. I hope I'm making myself clear....But it would make a little more sense if the cushions were separate from the plywood...easier and lighter to take out, clean, etc.

Also, interesting that a 1960 would have an applied foredeck anti-slip. Must be an early unit. And as far as I can see, this one doesn't have deck scuppers either. I thought that was a 1960 addition too.

Speaking of, have you ever had issues with water pooling amidships due to the lack of scuppers?

My originals are one piece. No problems with water pooling.

Not sure what that mahogany strip is under the cushion.


My cushions look the same as strip gear’s.


The center cushion is boxed to clear the marine head.
