I have seen in supporting literature and installation manuals for Airguide pictures of and a description of a bleeder valve to be put in line between pitot and gauge. I haven't followed every inch of line under my gunwale but I'm fairly confident I don't have a bleeder. Are they necessary and if so, does anyone happen to have one or an idea of something else that will work?

Thanks,
Eric

Hello Eric,

I knew I had a valve on the speedo line at the transom and assumed it was a damper valve. When knob is turned CW you don’t get a reading. Its a simple needle valve.

But as you mention they refer to it as a bleed valve.

This instruction sheet refers to it as useful in bleeding the lines with a through hull pickup.

So, I don’t know if you need it with the transom pickup. Looks like they sold the speedo kits and did not include that valve.

Thanks,
Terry
