She's a beauty. Did you perform the work or did a shop restore her? Must really turn heads at the dock!

Stunning.

I’m waiting for the weather to clear a bit in order to bring home the Delmar I am buying (it’s been snow and freezing rain for the last week and a bit here in Victoria). The boat and all of the related parts are currently under 2 portable garages at the current owners home...

With great interest, I read your rebuild of the Delmar with the extended swim platform and I have a couple questions… lol. I am super happy to see you still frequent this site.

The upper windshield on that extended Delmar appears to have been made by you and I’d really like to know what you used for a mounting strip... I’m on my phone and can’t really tell if that’s the same situation on this boat (love the little sink by the way).

I’d love to have a conversation with you once I get my Delmar home and can do a full inventory check of exactly what I’ve purchased. I saw the boat, motor, some of the bright work and a windshield. Stuff is stored in boxes and under tarps, so I really don’t know what all is there yet. The price was low enough that I wasn’t too concerned.

Thanks for posting photos of your Delmar, Commando! I'd love to see more. What year is this boat?

I'm wondering how you did the side windows? I currently have a one-piece panel of plexiglass set in while I try to figure out how to build a channel frame for a slider. Looks like you may have that sorted out?

Your top windshield looks great. How'd you do that?

The slider doesn’t have a Chanel , you can put a u shape glass edge on it the it just sit in the open . After you install the outer frame it should hold the glass in and slide freely. The top windshield I have to make a Fiberglass frame and cut to what I need and paint it then I got a piece of plexiglass glass to fit it . It’s easy to make but there’s a trick . I can show when you really want to make one

Hi David K , where did you get the new gasket for the front windshield? And was it a pain to change them ? Haha

I've never installed a windshield like this before. I hope I never have to again. It was a wrestling match. Luckily I had a very patient and determined friend helping me.

It looks like your windshield has a green tint. I wish mine did.

Really nice restoration. That mahogany rub rail is the bomb! I had a Delmar a few years ago. My plan was to turn it into a two-passenger "coupe" and power it with an odd-fire Buick V6/mercruiser outdrive. Naturally, it would have been loaded with mahogany. Unfortunately, I never have time to work on my own boats and finally sold it to a guy with more money than sense. Wish I hadn't.

Thank you. I still don't have the boat home yet. The guy's yard is pretty soft due to the snow melt and the rain. I have no doubt I could get it out but I would destroy his yard in the process.

I'm in the western communities (15 minutes outside of Victoria).
