TOPIC: 16 ft American Marc catamaran ski boat.

In the process of restoring this fiberglass ski boat, I’m looking for a matching pair of vintage motors (1958 to 1962) from 50HP to 75HP. Would like to find running motors or motors in condition to be repaired or rebuilt. I’m located in NY I can pick up local or arrange shipping for the the right motors. Anyone know who to contact?

Not sure what brand you like but if looking for Johnson or evinrude they make very nice and extremely simple engines to install and work on. These engines are 75hp in the model year range you are looking for are simple belt driven magneto fired ignitions and a single two barrel carburetor in front with the fuel pump right below it. Shifting is all mechanical and the gearcases were very robust and easy to work on. Good acceleration and they do not use much fuel at a cruise power setting. Somewhere around 4gph or so per engine at cruise would be a close estimate.
