TOPIC: Looking for Info 1969 Sea Shark

Looking for Info 1969 Sea Shark 3 years 1 month ago #145526

Looking for any info on a boat I’m looking at. Can’t seem to find anything online. Emblem in the boat says Sea Shark. It has a 350 Chevy inboard. 17’ long. I would love to find out some more info on the make/model manufacturer etc.

Color, design & OMC dash/steering/throttle all are late 60s.
I'm guessing "Sea Shark" is the model & not the manufacturer.
MN registration suggests it was made in Midwest. Maybe Alpex, glass division of AlumaCraft, maybe Silverline?
I did some searching & came up with nothing. More pictures please; include transom view, profile & a look at the bottom.

BTW, judging from the OMC controls, it's stern drive or I/O, not an inboard. May be a Chevy small block, 327 I believe. The 350 wasn't used that early.

I know this is an old post and you either bought the boat or it's been long out of the picture, but here some info on Sea Shark. The boats were made in the mid-to-late 1960's in Pittsburg, KS by Jack Helm ( Jack Helm Industries). Sometime in the early 1970's, the operation was moved to Jasper, MO. Too bad you didn't look at the placard near the transom to know for sure, but I believe they were still in Pittsburg in 1969. They were good boats; Sea Shark was slightly ahead of their time on ideas as boats go, but they seemed to lean more toward the double hull designs in later years of production. I still have a 1968 Sea Shark, a 16' Sport Runabout outboard. My dad bought it new in 1968, and I still have the original bill of sale. Hope this helps.
