TOPIC: My sons new (to him) 1965 Gulfstream

My sons new (to him) 1965 Gulfstream 3 years 5 months ago #144365

My son just picked up this '65 Gulfstream Fury... 165HP Mercruiser.

We're going through systems, fixing some wiring and things before taking it out in a few weeks.

I don't know anything about Gulfstream boats, but I like its looks.
However, Mercruiser didn't come out with the 165 until 1970. So, either the boat is newer, it has been repowered or you are assuming it is a 165 because it's an inline 6. The 1st inline 6 engines were 194CID 140hp, then 230CID 150hp, then 250CID 160hp & finally 250CID 165hp. Just letting you know so you don't go buying the wrong parts or propping it for the wrong WOT RPM.
