TOPIC: Identify this boat?

Identify this boat? 3 years 6 months ago #144090

Hello all,
Trying to determine who manufactured this small boat, probably back in the 60's. Mad eof fiberglass and was powered by a OMC 6hp mounted inboard and through bottom of hull with a very short midsection. Kinda like the predecessor to a jetski.
Actually what I really want is the short engine midsection as I want to mount an engine similar to this set up. Anyone have one?
Picture attached, I know are poor and are of a boat that was modified to be powered by an outboard in the traditional way.
Thanks for any help

looks similar to the boats disney used at disneyland. Can't recall who made them, but in the 60's and up into the 80's there were a lot of people turning out boats like this. They were marketed as thrill craft. Usually they had a small jet propulsion. But there were some powered with outboards.

I don't know who made them, but if memory serves, Disney World called them mouse boats. I rented one in 1981 when I was 15, that thing was a blast to drive. It had a Merc 9.9 on it and was pretty fast. I remember jumping the wake from the tour boats and catching good air. I saw one at a boat show in Upstate NY about 15 - 20 years ago and was really tempted to buy it.

Finally found a pic of one. Kinda small but you get the picture (pun intended). This is a Mouse Boat
for some odd reason it won't let me post the pic so here's a link newboatbuilders.com/images/mouseboat.jpg

Thanks for replies guys, but as per my original message, the original engine was an inboard mounted OMC 6hp. The pics were of a modified version with the outboard mounted in the traditional way.

Somewhere on this site in the past, I believe I had seen one or more pictures of what I think you are talking about. Under the boat it appears to look like the bottom lower unit of a conventional outboard, yet under the hatch was just an exposed engine. I wonder how I can remember enough to even go find it? Maybe If you google some images something will pop up that you are looking for. I think a few people on this site know what you are asking... just may take some time to get the right person to jump in.
