Help with part name! 4 years 4 months ago #142282

1961 Larson Lalpline 166

What is the part that holds the rub rail to the boat. It appears to be aluminum and sandwiches the top and bottom parts of the hull together.

That would still be the rubrail. That's basically a two piece rubrail, it's just aluminum and rubber vice rubber and rubber. Check tacomarine.com and wefco.com

It might not make any difference to the rub rail, but are you sure it's a 1961? I have a pdf of the 1961 brochure and I don't see a model 166 in it.

Yes you are correct, I miss remembered the year, it is a 1967 Larson 166. I had to go look at my paperwork... good eye!

on tacomarine's website I can find the replacement rubber part, but not a metal one with the profile like the one on my boat. Any idea on other places to look? Luckily the metal piece is in good shape, just needs polishing, I just need the rubber part.

Good that you can save the aluminum. This stuff will make it look better than new.
