Hello...new member here. My name is Brian and I've been in the shadows for years when I bought a 1959 Whitehouse boat, which my good friend has now because he owns '59 Plymouth's, and I thought it would be neat to take to car shows behind the Plymouth and I would some day find a Wayne 100 to tow behind one of my Corvair's. Well I finally found my unicorn..a 1965 Glasspar Avalon Wayne 100. This site really has fueled my interest in classic boats and I'm always on the lookout, especially for boats with fins. LOVE 'em! So now comes the new journey of restoring the boat. I had an auto restoration and custom shop for over 25 years, still doing it, so the boat shouldn't be too hard and this site and youtube has some great information.
Thanks for reading and hope to have a lot of fun doing this project..(.along with my many others)
Brian

Welcome Brian. I'm not familiar with a Wayne 100. Why is it special to you? Looks like a Corvair motor. Is that the connection? Start a string in the "projects" section so we can follow your progress. Pictures....lots of pictures.
Found this with a Bing search.....Google was terrible.

Thanks for the welcomes....yes..the Wayne 100 was Corvair powered. Built by Wayne Horning who was famous for the Wayne 12 port head for GMC inline sixes for drag racing. I will try to find the original patents but there is a lot of info on the corvaircenter.com and an article in Hot Rod Magazine in 1965. He built approximately 96 units.

And yes I will start a thread on the restoration. I am very busy so might take a bit but will do my best.

Found another good picture of a nice Wayne 100. This one was owned by someone on the corvair forum.
