TOPIC: Topside Sealer?

Hi folks.
I would like to save the metalflake finish on the topside of my G3, or atleast postpone a total refinish for a few years as I don't have the funds to do it correctly now, but would like to continue using the boat, without further degrading the finish.
It seems to have years of sun-damage, and is very faded, the clearcoat seems to be gone and the finish is rough to the touch.
I live in a 3rd world country and there is no metalflake specialists, or bass boat gelcoat repairers nearby.
Is there any general automotive products or methods you would recommend to thoroughly clean and prep the topsides with, and to apply a sealer or clearcoat of some sort which would enhance and protect the remaining metalflake? And not lift and peel within a season.

I had an older Ebko boat a few years back that had the same problem. Seemed like the flake was poking through. I didn't do anything with it except give it few heavy coats of paste wax. That didn't restore any gloss or smooth feel but I wasn't going to refinish it anyway. That being said I think you need to do a complete refinish to get the look and feel you want. You would have to put about 5 or 7 coats of clear coat to build up enough to buff down or you could just put on a coat of clear gelcoat which is what I think was originally there. I've never worked with gel but there are plenty of people here who have and can give you some advice.

Another question I had, was if one could roll and tip a clearcoat in this instance?

I haven't heard of anyone doing it but why not. Rustoleum might make a clear enamel. If mixed with a hardener and the sanded with 2000 and buffed you just might be able to pull it off.
