TOPIC: New guy looking for help identifying new boat

Hey guys new to old school boats but have always loved 50s and 60s boats. I picked up this boat for 200 bucks with the 40 horse super sea king on it which I have running now but I'd like to figure out what this boat is. The steering wheel says alumacraft and it's a 14ft . Obviously the windshield isn't original. The reggy says 1960 but who knows if that's right

Welcome aboard, always glad to see new people getting involved with these classics. I would think that the registration is correct. Looking through the Glassic library under alumacraft there are brochures and the 1960's brochure shows this hull design.

Darn shame someone painted over the Capacity label. should be black background with white letters. That label is an antique in and of it self. The OBC was a precursor to the Boating Industry Association, which eventually became the National Marine Manufacturers Association. Anyway. The info you are looking for may well have been on that label and just got painted over.

By the way; NY has always been pretty good at keeping registration info so you might want to ask them to run the number and see what comes up.
