TOPIC: Cy Atkinson - Shell Lake boats

Just found out that Cy died December 30th. I had the pleasure of meeting both him & his wife back in 2003. I wrote about meeting him back at the time. It's posted under Shell Lake history.

Thanks for sharing. I sat down with Cy at least twice to discuss boats. Nice man. He told me he couldn't believe the amount of money offered by Roy and Grant Thompson to pouch him from Shell Lake in 1966. It was an offer he couldn't refuse! He was instrumental in the transition from wooden to fiberglass boats at Cruisers, Inc.

I'm glad that a few knew the man/men that were in the action at the actual in the pits of design and engineering of these classic.. err... glassic manufactured boats. I know you will rest in peace at all benefits from your designs that get the thumbs up from all you did ! CHEERS to you !!!
