TOPIC: 60hp 1965 amp meter wiring

Still working on trying to get the generator system working. Got a new amp meter and I want confirmation on this wiring. Here is the schematic from my manual. (+) side of battery should be connected directly with the (+) side of the meter. The other side of the meter (-) shows that it goes to the "batt" of the voltage regulator. Is that correct????
