I have been on this site a short time, only the last 3 years, but I wanted to thank you all for the content, advice, encouragement, interest you all show to the experienced as well as the novice like myself. My wife does not thank you for giving me this new found obsession though. I am starting my 3rd restore and have the old tin affliction. When I retire I plan to restore my first old woodie. In the spirit of the season I will make another donation to help keep this site going. Thanks to all involved in keeping this going from a technical website angle or just providing input. Have a Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate out there. Looking forward to getting my 1960 Texas Maid Tahiti back in operation in 2017!

Cheers

And a Merry Christmas to you also.
Everyone benefits from all the shared information here. Novice and even the professional rebuilders pick up tips and tricks that have been learned over the years. The way this site is set up is unique in a way that it is not just a question and answer thing but a friendly neighbor to neighbor talk. If you ever get a chance to attend one of the local boat shows that have some of the members attending you'll experience a friendship that unforgettable.

I retire December 31st 2017 so I am sure I will make it to several then... Right now my time off is devoted to fishing and boating. It will happen one day...

Please apologize to your wide for me (as I might be classified as an enabler). However, I am confident you will make it up to her with wonderful outings in your 1960 Texas Maid Tahiti in 2017!Sunshine, days on the water, taking her to fine restaurants and a sunset cruise back home! Merry Christmas to all and I concur with your thoughts and Cal's.

Peoriaone:

This site doesn't help me much since I already know everything there is to know. I used to think there was still something left for me to learn but I was wrong...the only time in my life. I don't drop by here as often as I used to because I have a 1-hour humility lesson each evening. My instructor claims I'm making progress but he's not as smart as me so I might quit.

Glad to hear you have the old boat bug. The results of a restoration can give you a great sense of accomplishment. The guys on this site can help you a great deal and it's no wonder. I taught them everything they know.

Yep I learn something new all the time here, even on the woody side but it's usually because Jan did something and I tell myself "ah don't do it that way!" LOL sorry Jan who's your buddy who's your pal. ;)

Bob

All in good fun of course! Jan does outstanding work!!!!
