TOPIC: Corvair Boat Company?

Has anyone heard of "corvair" branded fiberglass boats. Not Corsair or Convair or a boat with a car Corvair motor. Here is a picture of the 14 ft I just purchased to use and restore. Was this a regional New England Company?

check the size of your pic, may be too big and needs to be shrunk down.

hello,
i resized the pick. can you see it? the corvair model seems to be the same mold as the sears boats from the same era. i have seen a few others of this make on craigslist. if anyone has more info on Corvair Fiberglass boats, please let me know. Not corsair, convair or the the gm car. brad |

Yes that's it exactly, there goes my theory that it was a regional new england brand. Thanks I like to see pictures so I can tell what the original seats might have looked like, though that one doesn't look like original. Mine has some Walmart bass boat seats. would like to get back to something more original.

Cool boat, has some really neat looking contours and lines. Would be cool to have a Corvair van or truck to pull the Corvair boat, that would be a cool set up.

My first car was a 65 Corvair sedan 95 hsp. Then I had a 66 convertible 110 tsp which I commuted in until about 1990. I have a friend with a corvair Greenbrier van who could tow it.

My first car was a 62 Corvair station wagon. Next was a 65 Corsa with a Holley 4 barrel. I replaced that with the original 4 1 barrel set up and enjoyed that much better. And it could have pulled that boat without a problem. Matter of fact, the wagon could have pulled it too with 95 hp and a powerslide transmission!
