TOPIC: Hello and ID

Hello and ID 8 years 3 months ago #123937

I'm new here and quite excited. I'm going to be starting to fix up a '58 Lonestar Caribbean. However, I also found another smaller boat with wings I need help identifying in order to decide if it's project worthy. Thanks, everyone!

I love the retro look of the Lonestar Caribbean!! I would be sorely tempted if I found one close to me. Can't wait to see pictures of it and your restoration. Post pictures of both boat projects when you can.

You've really got your work cut out for you with that Caribbean. It looks like the previous owner used docks to stop the forward motion. Good luck.

Haha! If you all are interested, it was submerged in '88, recovered, and then left in a yard with heavy traffic since. The pics show it off of the trailer because of Wyoming wind which is only once of many blow offs.

However, the glass work is the least of my worries because it's what I do for a living. The upholstery and mechanics frighten me.

Thats a project!! What does it have on the back of it? Twin Evinrude ???s
I like the look of them.

Regarding the boat to ID, it is familar looking with the glass holding the seats in the front. Might have been one of the projects 63Sabre was working on. I will take a look and let you know if I figure it out. No plate?

I can go back to see later. Any guesses where a plate would be. I'm a boat laymen that just stumbled upon fun stuff.

If you're lucky you might find one either in the rear around the transom or under the crust there might be a dashplate. I found neither on my first boat but these guys ID'd it in a day. Someone here will know. :)

That is on of my favorite pocket cruisers, you are very lucky to have found one! I can't wait to see the finished boat in all its splendor. I would not fear the upholstery to much as it was probably very basic originally anyways. It is super cool that you have what looks to be original twins on it also, don't fear them they are really simple motors.
