The annual Portage Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show, sponsored by the North Coast Ohio Chapter of ACBS and the Portage Lakes Historical Society will be held at On Tap at the Harbor on Portage Lakes, Ohio (just 5 miles southwest of downtown Akron, Ohio) on September 25, 2016 from 9AM-3PM.

Details and registration forms are at:

northcoastohio.org/event/41st-annual-portage-lakes-antique-boat-show/

We've already registered more fiberglass boats than ever before, so come on out. Registration for the show is $20. Coming to just look at all the boats is free to the public and all are welcome!

We had a great show last Saturday. Had by far the most non-wood boats at the show we've ever had. I counted a total of 15 fiberglass boats, between the land and water displays. Most were in water. Overall, we had the best variety ever!

Sold my Arrow Glass Flyer at the show and now have room for the 1962 MFG Edinboro I just got.

A complete write-up of the show is at:

I'll have to mark the date on my calendar, I'm only about 10 miles from there. Unfortunately, our '59 Tomahawk isn't a show quality restoration, just a fun project.

Bring it! If you don't want to have it judged, that's OK - everyone has that option.. The more the better!

Just a quick question if you don't mind. Are Canadians welcome and where is the closest U.S. Customs office ? We spend a lot of time on Lake Erie coming out of the Niagara River and have crossed over many times to visit Cleveland and Cedar Point.

Sure, anyone is welcome. However, to get to Portage Lakes, you'll need to trailer a boat. There are no waterways connecting to Lake Erie.

Here is a link about reporting to customs along the US side of the Lake Erie shore:
