TOPIC: Prop Question

On the '58 Tomahawk with a Rude 135 I have a 13.25 X 15 prop. Hole shot is neck breaking but top end is disappointing @ 42 mph. I have a 13 X 19 and wondering if that would increase top end much. With that horsepower on a small boat I don't think hole shot will suffer.

Only way to find out is to run it. Increasing the pitch by four inches is a significant change. The 1/4" reduction in diameter isn't.

Just from my own experience I am guessing you should be running closer to 50mph with that 19 pitch prop.

I'd be happy with that. Was my original goal.

All you can do is try it. With a light boat like that, the hole shot shouldn't be a problem and the 19" pitch should take over on the top end. Good luck.

Bill, haven't seen you around in a while. Was kinda looking for you at Edgerton the other week. Do you plan on any Midwest shows this year. Beloit or Tomahawk?
