I ended up with a 10 foot hydroplane and am in the process of modifying a trailer to fit. The bow of the boat is only a couple of inches above the trailer frame. This interferes with the winch rope that connects to the bow eye. An explanation or a picture of the proper way to mount the bow roller and winch would be helpful.

Thank you,

Randy

In my experience most 10 foot hydros weren't launched from trailers and didn't use winches. A couple guys would just pick em up and set em in the water. I had a 10 ft Hal Kelly Wet Back with a Merc 25SS on it at one time many years ago.

Most guys transport em on trailers. I always put mine on roof racks on top of my car and the engine in the trunk.

I was looking for hydroplanes on trailers, and got side-tracked.
I found some pretty cool old pictures, but not sure that I have permission to post them.
Several were on ladder racks on pick-up trucks, one was on the top of a Corvair.
I have transported my old Neil 3 point on a jet-ski trailer with two bunks. The hull rested on the bunks just inside the sponsons.
I had a similar jet-ski trailer under my '55+/- cab-over built by Hu Entrop, but it is currently wall art in the Man Cave.
While digging through pictures, I found an old advertisement of a WETBACK 3 point hydro that I thought 'randyr' might like.
