It's a Mississippi Brown Water Snake, non-venomous, but scary enough. It definitely will bite.

A guy sent me a 1958 Chris Craft from Texas. When we opened the cabin closet, we found a monster black snake all coiled up in a storage bin. After an interesting struggle with three guys, a big stick and a shovel, he ended up measuring 7'-4". I had a few photos but lost them in my big computer crash of 2014.

Interesting. - Never seen (or even heard of) a MS Brown Water Snake.

Fwiw, I once picked up a Lone Star 18ft tin runabout & found a rather large RAT under the dashboard, when we started cleaning out all the accumulated junk out of the hull. - Caused considerable excitement when he ran over the wife's foot.
