TOPIC: 1965 Glasspar Marathon - Windshield Brackets

1965 Glasspar Marathon - Windshield Brackets 8 years 10 months ago #117742

I'm looking for replacements for the windshield brackets that attach the windshield to the top shell on the left and right side of the boat. I've marked up a photo of another Glasspar below to clarify the position of the part's in question. That's not my boat, I'd take pictures of mine but its dark and the boat is under a tarp at the moment.

The previous owner had an acrylic reproduction of the original windshield made (which turned out very nice), but in the process of removing the old broken windshield he messed up the brackets very badly.

I've installed the windshield along with the new gasket set, however I'm still missing these last two pieces to securely fix the windshield in place.

Any advice on where I might find either vintage or reproduction parts would be appreciated.

Rob

If you haven't done so already you might try the Glasspar Owners Association site.

Stuff like that comes up on eBay from time to time, best to set up a "search" and run it periodically. I'm no pro like some of the gang here, maybe they can fill you in on setting it up?

No, but I might be able to make something like that work if I can't find the originals. I'll take a picture later today and added it to the thread.

The existing brackets are damaged, but it should be fairly apparent from the photo what they are supposed to look like.
