I am going to go look at an old Larson All American this week. The seller says it is a 16'. Here in WI, I thought all boats 16' and up had to have a title. He will give me a bill of sale. Should this worry me?

You are in luck. Us wisconsinites have one of the easiest DNR boat registration processes in the US.

If you can get the registration card, the little credit card shaped thing, (might not even need that) signed by the seller along with a signed bill of sale you should be good to go. Does the boat have a valid sticker on it along with the hull ID?
I've gone to the local DNR office here in GB with only a bill of sale from Rawhide and came out less that 10 mins with stickers and paperwork. They can trace the registration number back to the PO's to see if it was previously titled and then issue a duplicate.

As Sabre said, depends on the state. Some states are very strict, others are not Obviously Wisconsin is one of the nots.

When I bought my boat from someone in Minnesota, all I had was a bill of sale and the registration card and had no problems at all getting it registered in Wisconsin. My boat is registered at 17 ft., so I don't think that matters here.
