TOPIC: Transport

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience having a boat only, no engine or trailer transported cross country. Looking at possible acquisition in Michigan and need it moved to CA. Any help will be appreciated.

You could try UShip Jack, but I would worry about the hull being not supported properly and getting damaged? How big is the boat?

Thanks for getting back. The boat is a 15' Land and Sea. If it were chalked in place I thought should ride ok. Would hope that hauler would have the right answer. Will give them a call tomorrow as this deal depends on transportation.

Had one experience this past summer with U-Ship. Sold a boat in Green Bay, WI to a buyer in San Antonio, TX. It was on a trailer, new tires, wheels, good lights etc. U-Ship contracts with private people/carriers. They are the contact people not the hauler. Anyhoo, A young lady with a newer Dodge Ram came and picked up the boat, pulled it to TX at the buyers expense. Cost was around $1,200. They are insured. I ran some numbers on making the trip myself using my Jeep and the cost came out about the same.
