TOPIC: Fiberglass Hull and deck restoring

Fiberglass Hull and deck restoring 8 years 11 months ago #116231

Hi all, currently in the process of restoring my 1965 swift craft ski boat, have put a new floor in and stripped everything out of the boat, I'm just weighing up whether to get my hull and deck re gel coated as there were small cracks appearing when i started sanding back along the shape lines of the hull.. any thoughts? Job to take on, or job to take into the experts?

There is some really good info in the "Research / Restoration" section (top toolbar of the screen) that will assist you in making the decision. It can be done at home, but is labor intensive and takes some time to do the prep work properly. Much like a paint job, the quality of the end product depends greatly on how well the preparation was done.

You've got a great support group here to help if you decide to tackle the job yourself, share some pics of what you are dealing with to help us advise you. ;)
