Great looking boat. I love the windshields as much as the fins.

Mine doesn't have the recess for the bow handle

Does the owner have any literature on it?

Can you post a shot of the builder's plate?

Ron, Nice! Watched the youtube video, was more interested in the Ventures...Sounds like many of the old Venture LPs I have, scratches from being well used.

Re:Princecraft Flyer 8 years 9 months ago #118524

Ronny,
I was wondering how to get even clamp pressure on a transom surface.
those clamps really get the job done.
I always look for ideas in pictures of all the members to see the best way to do things. Thanks for the great idea. tell Barnacle Bill
he is a Genius !!!!... you all out there are too!

Mine will be a 2x4 version with spreader clamps, because I'm a cheap ass ! I go to the depot, and buy the twisted warped crap for 70 % off in the bargain bin, and make my jigs and supports. because it doesn't have to be pretty to be functional !

VERY nice! 2 of the 7 simple machines: the screw which is a form of the incline plane, and the lever/fulcrum. Your jack easily makes up for what a human would have needed (I would have needed) much longer handles if putting pressure by hand to move something. The pivoted large pads are all part of this really nice design. There are indeed great minds here (and most "come a knowin'", they "don't come a learnin'" ...I am the "learnin'" one here, so Thanks!)

Ronny - who's rub rail is that? I really like it and think I should use that on mine. I also always wondered how you get something that long with continuous aluminum shipped to your house?? Does it come in a large circle that has to be carefully un-bent around (like that copper tubing for houses)? Sorry for my ignorance. My black rubber insert is still good, but it was in a plastic rail that took some dock hits...since it was from 1958, it was brittle and broke.

Thanks for the reply Dr.Go
We got the rub rail from a marine supply place here in Ontario Canada
You should be able to match the profile with your local supplier
Ours came in 12 foot pieces at a cost of $230 each Cdn. plus the rubber $200
You can most likely buy it cheaper it the US
We have a custom tool to bend the rail to the shape we need made by a Machine Shop .
