TOPIC: Bumper Rail advise....?

Bumper Rail advise....? 9 years 1 day ago #116042

Hey fellas! I have two boats (60 Dorsett Catalina and a 67 Seafair Sedan) that have those white bumper/rub rails that line the outer edge of the boat. They are chalky to the touch and one of them has a couple small gouges. Where can I find replacements or also are there any products or techniques that could be applied to it for longevity and removing the chalky residue?

Wash em down with Acetone and then with a good hot bath with sudsy water. Then heat em up with a heat gun and see if they'll get flexible. Replacements are PRICEY!!!
TacoMarine.com is one of the best. eagle-aluminum.com is another one.

Wefco rubber. They have the original dies to extrude the part. they are likely the ones that originally made it. depending on the color, you may have to get someone to go 50/50 with you on a run of it. It is custom made to order, and the often will require a minimum run.
