TOPIC: 2016 FiberGlassic Calendars...

This years FiberGlassic's Calendars will be produced and distributed by Ken Sikora. My heart isn't into it anymore and Ken would like to keep up the tradition. I'm sure he will appreciate any help offered, but know he realizes that more help usually means more headaches. Ken will post the payment options and deadline, for photos and payment. Ken asked me for a theme for the calendar, but honestly i can't think of one that hasn't been covered in the past. Hopefull, some of our members can suggest a theme. I really enjoyed handling this the last 7 years and hope our members will make the 2016 Calendar a record year.

Ron, I think you have done an outstanding job and need to express my appreciation. I will start a new post about next year's calendar but in the meantime I'd like to hear suggestions for the theme from members.

Thanks Ron for all of your work. These are often the thankless roles that people spend hours doing in which no one else has any idea of the time commitment!

As for themes it might be helpful to have a list of what already has been done.

Just to throw one out, how about overhead shots? Example: From one of those drones that folks seem to be using.

Here's one suggestion for the 2016 theme: FiberGlassic family photos. Pictures of you and family/pets on your glassic.

For a theme how about on the water? Tied up at the sand bar or dock or at speed. I love seeing these boats being used. The smiles, the scenery, I can feel the fun in these pics.
The up close pics are beautiful and the owners should be proud but even some of my old boats look pretty good in a fly-by pic. LOL

How about a photo of an owner with there boat? Owner could be standing in front, behind, or driving the boat...but must be in the picture.

How about doing regional pages. Could get people in different geographic areas to meet for a photo shoot - could really be inclusive of our happy group.

Just my 2 cents....

I am with Gene and Mr Anderson here. Pictures of boats in use are cool and attract people to want to buy them. To date I have purchased the largest amount of calendars, I put them for sale at our shop. When people see the boats in the water with the proud owners it inspires them to get their boat done. Plus that's what sells calendars. SO a picture dock side or at speed with the owner driving does just that. Doing a trailer thing or motor thing has been done. I have been a part of the calendar thing for the past 5 years and was Honored to get the cover shoot in 2013. Ron has done a amazing job in the past and his focus was all about making a few bucks to support this website. That's a lot of donated time and energy so I think its time to have Ron and his Custom Craft on the cover. Lets honor the guy that made all the calendars in the past. Now keep in mind why we do this. Its to raise money for Ken to keep the website going. I know its not much money but every bit counts.

So with that said I would be willing to do a special shoot just for the calendar with the fall theme dock side. I have added a picture as a example.

Good points. I am in agreement that action or shots at the dock will be exciting. All in agreement say "Yea". If not, say "Nay"... !

As to format, Ron on the cover is it.

I have seen a lot of Ron's boat pics over the years but the one he uses on his profile here would be perfect. Well Ron, it ain't the cover of the rolling stones but close.

I know the POWER CAT guys have some way cool at speed shots from this year. I would bet many guys do so it should be easy to get 12 or if you went with 4 per page as in the past you would need 48.

If you wanted to do a regional type thing you could label with the persons name and state or country.

Oh ya my vote is ya lets do this.
