TOPIC: Seeking advice for G3 / Merc 700 restoration.

Recently purchased my second G3, 1960 (ugly) yellow. Basket case but hull in very good condition. (paint worn). Original Merc 700 needs rebuild as well. I have it stored at my brothers house in Lake Havasu City, Az. There are many boat services available there, traveling down in the next week or so. But ... I also have a small winter home in Crystal River Fla., and could easily drag this project boat to Fla. Does anyone have an opinion for me ? I know many of you have experience in G3 restoration. Any input on boat restored to brochure white with black trim, and Merc 700 short-shaft rebuild would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get started on the best path possible. thanx ... pete 970.412.2900

BTW: owned 1959 G3, with mark 58A Merc, had to sell in order to pay for birth of 1st child. I cried as much as the baby !
