We just bought a new to us house on lake Brownwood in TX. This house has a boat dock but it looks like it is in bad shape. The home was a HUD as is purchase. The dock is a floating design with pipes anchored into the shore that run up the property almost to the house but do not appear to pivot. The main issue is that most of the boards are missing on the ramp to the dock and some of the pipes are rotted.
Are there any good sites on building or repairing floating docks.
I could not get the pic downsized correctly so I will post it tomorrow. My wife is telling me it is bed time.

That sounds like a little piece of heaven retirement on a lake with your own dock! All the best to you and I trust you will fully enjoy your time there.

Pics will help us to help you. What's floating the dock? Foam?? Barrels?? Do you want to replace the pipes? Are the reusable and just needing repair? Any pivot points needed/wanted? I helped a friend design a build his FD using large foam blocks. It had 2 pivot points and hand rails too! Worked out really well. Painted it with POR-15 and it looks like new today and it's 15 years old!!!

Here are some pictures of the dock. Thy are not very good but were taken when I was looking at it. I am currently in CA but the house is in TX.
The pipes go all of the way up to the house. I do not know why they ran them all of the way up there. The dock appears to use foam for floatation and there are a couple of large blocks of white foam (6'x4') close to the water.

That will be a nice slice of retirement heaven. There are a lot of little coves to explore on that lake.
Surely there is a dock repair guy somewhere nearby, maybe start by having him out for a bid.
