TOPIC: Flotation foam back or not

Flotation foam back or not 9 years 2 months ago #113838

ello,

I just started working on a new floor for my g3 lookalike. Now that is started this it's full of waterlogged foam. I almost got it all out. But I'm not sure whether to put it back or not. I won't be going on big waters and will always be close to shore. The only holding me back is that it might by structural.

I will post some pictures later
later.

Would like to know what you guys think.

I think you should put new foam back in.
A submerged boat that is close to the surface is easier to tow and get out of the water, than a boat that is sitting on the bottom. AND unless you are a distance swimmer ?
What looks close to shore ? Is a lot further than you think !!!!

The foam in that hull IS structural and I strongly recommend that you replace it with the 2# pour-in foam. The boat will NOT be safe without it. It's more than just about floating the boat for sinking purposes!!!!
