TOPIC: 1965 Lone Star MYSTIC

1965 Lone Star MYSTIC 9 years 2 months ago #113355

Friends,

Another "Texas-built" is about to "follow me home": a 1965 LONE STAR MYSTIC in solid gold color on a 1965 trailer & powered by a 1965 Johnson Model RXL-13, which needs ALL "the usual suspects" replaced.
(Found in a garage in Austin, looking "unloved".)

I need some GOOD QUALITY color photos of the interior arrangement & that are clear/large enough for the "upholstery lady" to copy. = IF anyone has any, please email me.
(I'll be delighted to pay you for your time & photos.)

Btw, what is it with nearly all the antique boats that I find having had the stock seats replaced with reupholstered BASSBOAT seats?
(It's certainly NOT cheaper!!)

yours, satx

…. not a color pic but shows original including the "cypress floorboards". Edwardo N might have an original seat and possibly better pics.

Here's the brochure for it. Not the best, but it gives you an idea.

Edwardo no longer has his Mystic, it was sold several years ago. We mailed each other while I was rebuilding mine.
I think I already mailed you what I have. Had to improvise on the interior since I couldn't find any up close pics either. The front seat bottom is a box design made from 5/8 ply for storage and is bolted to the floor and front kick panel. The back of the seat is mounted on stainless tubing that I bent then inserted wood dowels so it wouldn't collapse when the bolts were tightened, "T" nuts are in the back of the seat for the bolts. Then drilled holes for the tubing on the seat box and then put everything together with 1/4" bolts. There was supposed to be a center seat/storage box behind the front seat but I didn't get that far yet.
