TOPIC: GLAS-TEX Boats???

Friends,

A fellow here in San Antonio has a FG 18 foot Open Fisherman that is placarded as a GLAS-TEX of Texas & is powered by a 75HP 1966 Evinrude OB.
(The man inherited it from an uncle & knows ZILCH about it.)

I've looked in the FG Library, performed an "advanced search" of FG forums & done a search on Google.com & found exactly NOTHING relevant.
(From the hull design, I would guess that the hull was built in the 1960s or 1970s periods.)

Does anyone KNOW anything about the GLAS-TEX boats/company????

Glass Star Boat Company of Cooper
Glassflite Company of Houston
Glassco Boats, Inc. of Fort Worth
Glastron (Standard Glass Products) of Austin and later New Branfauls

No GLAS TEX

Google Glastex boats. Wikipedia has a listing on them.

Unfortunately, that is NOT the same company as "GLAS-TEX of Texas".

Between 1945 & about 1970 there were several boat companies, using similar-sounding names that were from different States/owners/designs/everything & that confuses "the identity issue".

In this case, the Texas boat-builder has (evidently) ZILCH to do with Speed Queen/Sea Sprite/Sea Star, except a similar name.

Photos would help! Even most cell phones have a digital camera. Or use a disposable or reusable film camera and get a CD when you develop the photos.
