TOPIC: Johnsen Boats

Johnsen Boats 9 years 3 months ago #112313

Hello everyone! I just got a Johnsen boat on Saturday. Don't know much about them. Not even sure what year/model mine is. Does anyone have any insight into these boats? I do have to make some repairs as I've found some cracks on the hull.

Welcome, there is some info on the net. I binged Johnsen boats some info did come up. A picture would be helpful. Are the cracks just surface blemishes or deep through the hull things. Either can be repaired.
To post pictures they must be resized. I usually make them around 1000 pixels and then use the browse (img) on the bottom of your post then submit.

Pretty basic repair. You can use a R/O sander and some 40 grit paper or a 4 1/2" grinder and some resin coated discs to grind it down to fresh glass and then use polyester resin and CSM to lay down some new glass to build it back up. Sand it some then use some final fairing material to finish it off and either re-gelcoat it or paint it.

Thanks MyFlamingo! I've never made repairs to a boat before so I'm looking forward to this. I'm also thinking about making a couple of modifications to it.
