WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE: LONE STAR INFO. 9 years 3 months ago #111374

Friends,

Do any of you have a "by year built" and/or "model name" serial number list for the Texas-built LONE STAR boats?

IF you do, I would really like to have a copy of the list.
(I would be PLEASED to pay for the list.)

yours, satx

My understanding is that Chrysler kept all of their records but destroyed all of Lone Star's.

Frederick Lynes,

IF that's true, "that's a H of a note."

THANKS for your input.

Frederick Lynes; ALL,

SUCCESS!!!!!!
(IF you ask enough people, someone will KNOW.)

Here's THE SCOOP:

ALL of the SERIAL NUMBERS of LONE STAR boats of the 1960s have either 9 or 10 digits.

The first 3 are the MODEL NUMBER (In my case, 054 is the MEDALLION.)

The next 3 numbers is the "unit number" of that years production (The 6XXth Medallion built in that model year, in my case)

The next 1 or 2 numbers is the numerical month, starting with 1 for Jan & ending with 12 for December.

And the last two numbers is the year (for example, "64").

Therefore, LONE STAR hull serial number "0540660664" would be: the 66th Lone Star Medallion, which was built in June 1964.

I hope that this information helps more members than just me.

YOU DA MAN!!!!

Thanks for info.

Ok, so now you know that your medallion is NR 54. I'll decipher my Mystic and find out what number that is.

UPDATE:
Check the numbers on my Lone Star and they are somewhat different. Only 8 numbers.
83310393 So if I can sorta assume;
833 = Mystic model
103 = Number so far assembled that year
9 = Sept.
3 = 1963

If it was on the line in September of '63 the 103 would be close for production.

When I registered it the DNR previous records had it registered as a 1970 so I left it that way knowing it was totally wrong.

63 Sabre; everyone,

I'm definitely NOT "da man" (All that I did was ask everybody/every place that I could think of to ask.) BUT the VERY HELPFUL gentlemen, who went out of their way to help me in "decoding" the SN, definitely ARE.
(The "antique & classic boat crowd", in my experience, are HELPFUL, POLITE & generally all-around TERRIFFIC folks.)
