TOPIC: Short video running around on Lake Crescent in WA

Hi, took my boat out on Lake Crescent recently and it's such a beautiful lake I wanted to share it.

This is a boat I built, just over 14' long with a 1961 Mercury 800 FGS. I've posted some videos showing the performance of the boat/motor in the Mercury sub-forum, but thought I'd post this video here.

Dad is driving the boat for the first time; we leave the Log Cabin Resort and head over to the Devil's Punchbowl. It's a kind of grotto/swimming hole you hike to in the Spruce Railroad Trail. Great for cliff diving, etc.

A bit windy on the lake, but not too bad, had a great time.

That looked like fun! She sure has a narrow beam though, not very comfy for 2 adults.

Crescent is such a beautiful lake, and we have certainly been having wonderful weather here in the PNW lately.

When we're taking trips to the ocean we always stop at the big vantage point on the way and take pics. It was where my Step-Dad (RIP) proposed to my Mom, so it really has a special meaning for her.

Usually is windy, though. I'd imagine it's pretty calm early-morn before the air heats up, and real calm for the Bug Run, later on in the evening.

Never have run a boat there, I guess I better put that on my bucket list!

Hi Ed, that's a great story, thanks for sharing. Mornings are definetely calmer, but still can get warm. The Log Cabin Resort has cabins to rent, a restaurant and grill plus the boat launch. Its main appeal for me is that it is protected from the prevailing winds (at least near shore) most of the time.

Thanks! The lake was so beautiful that day, had to share it. My dad loves the boat! After this run, he took it out alone - it was great to finally see the boat from the shore.
