My 1959 or 1960 Skagit 17 Skimaster has passed on to some wonderful people in Portland, Or. It was a little too light for use where I live, the weather and waves are more than it was designed for. A 1978 Olympic 18 took her place, and while the Olympic is not nearly as swanky, it is heavier, deeper, and more seaworthy. I love the old 'glassics' and lurk here more as my boat is not really old enough to be a classic.

I have had a small 12' speedboat since 2000 or so. It is one of the best boats I have ever owned, it is fast, dry, light, seaworthy, and I only paid $200 for it! I have taken her from Tacoma to Olympia and back, all over the lower Columbia River and its many sloughs and tributaries, towed logs, raced other little boats, etc. It has been used extensively and has basically worn out. She has a crack in the floor of the inner tub, a hole punched in the side (small), a small hole in the little foredeck, a crack in the transom, and a myriad of chips in the gel coat.

She has a rebuilt 1984 15hp Johnson (with a 1980 cowling) for power (wiseco race pistons!). But what is she? I've seen the same boat around before, but never one with the inner tub. Here is one made by 'Olympian':

wenatchee.craigslist.org/boa/5048775583.html

Who built her? I found MFG SEATTLE molded into the top of the transom, and E12-722 cast into the hull on the stbd side aft below the rail. It was built in the mid 70s (I am guessing). Does anyone have any information on these boats?

I decided to rebuild her, because she is a great boat and I have so many memories cruising in her over the years. Here is a picture of the 'Slough Navigateur'. :)

Edit: :woohoo:

Thank you! I haven't posted in the new format, although I was pleasantly surprised to find my log in still worked! Did a little work today, I sanded down the filler.

Transom is pretty soggy still. I drilled some holes to help dry it out.

Edit: I probably should have posted this in the Projects section, not here. Sorry!
