I just picked this boat up a few nights ago- for the motor and trailer. It was dark, I had seen bad pictures of the rig other than the motors and had assumed the boat was dump bait. And then I looked at it the next day- loogat all that aluminum on the boat- castings, gunnels, etc. Then the length of it hit me- the boat does not hang off my 12' trailer! So it's a 12 footer.

It's a bit rough- I'm sure it needs a transom. But it is NOT heavy which amazed me. Does anyone know what the structure was on the early ARk Traveler fiberglass boats? I am guesstimating that this is a 1955 or 1956 model.

Thanks!

YES, it is a keeper. Once I looked at it in the light of day it was a pretty different piece.

Does anyone out there know what the sub-structure of ca. 1955 ark. traveler fiberglass boats was? it does not appear to have a floor.

Just wondering if anyone out there had done one. I am going to re-do this boat and just was wondering if it has embedded metal or something else that you cannot see that contributes to the structure.

What I can see is not much structure, but I don't want to beef it up uneccesarily if there is structure there! I know the family who owned it did run it and it was able to take a pretty heavy scott atwater 30hp and performed to the mid 30's mph easily.
