ok,that brought back some of the few good memories i have of my dad and a small tear.
my dad and i did not have a great relationship,but he did buy a small 80's sunbird cuddy cabin,even though we only took it out 4 times before he sold it,1 of those times we spent a whole night fishing and talking like we were friends,he even let me drive.
he also taught me to drive in an old ford pickup.

Big fan of Alan Jackson, and one of my favorites of his songs.

Not to be picky but....."75 Johnson with 'lectric choke" ... more like a '56 Javelin 30hp, but what the heck, creative licence I suppose.

this reminds me of my dad every time i hear it.. growing up on the water by Long Beach Island. learning to drive his boats. then him teaching me how to drive later on the dirt roads out in the pine barrens in the south jersey woods.. this pic is of the first fiberglass boat my father ever bought.. this pic was taken around 1970. its a 58 crosby 16ft with a 22hp scott atwater on the back.. its been in the family since 1964 and i still have it, its due for a restore..

Alan is a big classic boat fan. he used to own one of the sweetest Chris Craft Commander SS/XK19's anywhere. He also did this song with Jimmy Buffett live at Texas Stadium. Favorite boat building song of all time.
