TOPIC: 1970 ARROWGLASS JAVELIN "out in the weeds"

1970 ARROWGLASS JAVELIN "out in the weeds" 9 years 5 months ago #108431

Friends,

I've been "out in the brush" again & found a complete (except for the seats) 1970 ARRORGLASS JAVELIN on a NICE shop-built trailer for DIRT CHEAP.
(The Javelin is a 16' 10" Deep-V hull.)

Do any of you have any information on the hull number: 4706588
OR
the Mercruiser motor number: 28535321
OR
the Mercruiser outdrive number: 2822078

Any interior arrangement information/photos would be NICE, too.

Best place I've found for info is at:

arrowglassboats.proboards.com/thread/28/mid-1960s-flyer

I've got a 1970 13'10" Flyer.

davenau6345,

Fyi, I found exactly ZILCH about the 1970 Javelin on that website & very little on iboats.com, which results that I found quickly on a google search.

I was hoping that someone on our forum might have a factory brochure.

davnau6347,

Since I last posted to you I've discovered that the engine is the original to the hull 2.5 liter/120HP Mercruiser inline 4 cylinder with the correct 1970-era Mercruiser OD.

I still have NOT found a photo of the seating/interior design, though that's all that seems to be missing.

ALSO, does anyone know how/where to title a 16 ft 10 inch I/O boat & trailer, which has been abandoned for at least 3 decades? - I just nearly know that SOME state has to have a reasonable procedure for doing a new title/registration.
(The PO is deceased with no known living relatives.)

Fyi, Texas is really "aggravating" about titling/registering abandoned watercraft/trailers. - The last person that I talked to at TPWD told me that I could post a permanent cash bond that is equal to the original retail price of boat/motor/trailer.
(When I told her that the company has been out of business for over 15 years & that the original price is unknowable, she said, "Let it be a challenge to you.")
