The tax is hidden because, on paper, it appears as a clean-energy mandate. Federal law currently requires fuel retailers to blend about 13 billion gallons of corn ethanol per year into the gasoline they sell to the public, making the gas more expensive. Yes, it is a scam perpetrated by AlGore, he even admitted such, to curry favor with Midwest farmers!

Even worse is the waste of energy to produce the Evil Stuff, and how it drives-up the price of corn. Not to mention the reduction in mpg.

I'm fortunate that I have a small local gas station that sells unadulterated Good Stuff. I use it exclusively in my Nissan Pu and it gets far better mpg than with Cr*pohol. Also used in the lawn mower & other motorized garden tools, with far less carb problems.

And when I put my motorcycles back on the road, the cursed stuff will never touch their tanks!

I'm lucky that I have some local stations that sell non-ethanol plus and premium gas, but that doesn't mean that it's particularly good fuel. It's just alcohol free. The only vehicle of mine that drinks e-10 is the ole ford exploder. It doesn't seem to bother it. Just don't get mileage out of it.jim
