I'd love to find one of those for my 59 Glastron

Todd, that would be perfect for your '17 Seaflite. Earlier posted on this thread, there is one for sale I believe. It belongs to Bruce (Motohead). It's the black one he posted. Good luck Todd, hope you find one.

...for sending me copies of his '59 Tee Nee brochure. I had asked Del for a bit more information on the trailer I just picked up. When he posted some pictures of them, I asked if he would send me some pictures and so he did. Better yet, he mailed me scanned copies of the brochure. I had told him that if I can get copies from the '59 brochure, it could possibly help in getting this trailer registered to the appropriate year, '59 and model, OB-70A. So in the mail yesterday, this is what I recieved. Thanks again Del, much appreciated.

Even the cover is very cool

This is the same model I just picked up. This is great reference for restoration.

The moral of the story is that even when I’m not trying to look for old boats and stuff, something unexpected happens like finding this cool Tee Nee.

That was over a year and a half ago. This just happened recently. Here’s my story.

My wife’s friend and coworker just picked up a new to her folding bike to commute from her parking space, about a mile from work. Not long ago, she gets a flat on her rear tire. My wife offers my services that I can fix the flat tire for her. That afternoon she drops off the bike at our place. The next day I go to our local used bicycle shop less than a couple miles from home. I know the owner, since I also have a few vintage bikes myself; occasionally I’ll stop by and say hello. This time, I’m there to purchase an inner tube and Mr Tuffy bicycle tire liner. So while he was getting the items for me, I’m browsing his glass counter case full of vintage bicycle stuff, and I see these two red teardrop shape lenses with the chrome bezels.

I’m thinking to myself, “These looks like the same lenses as the Flightlight Fin Styling lights that I got on the ’59 Tee Nee teardrop fenders.” I asked Jeff, the owner, where he got these. He couldn’t really say where, but said that he just found them in a box he had in his garage. I asked to look at them, and as I’m looking over the lights, these are in very good condition considering. The items are still covered in dust and no cracks on the plastic lenses. I ask for a measuring tape to make certain that these are the exact same lights I’m thinking about. I ask Jeff to hold these for me just in case. I go home to check the pictures that I took here on this thread over a year and half ago.

“Holy Sh??, These are it,” I shouted out. I couldn’t believe it. I called my cousin to confirm the measurements, because I didn’t have the trailer here at my house; she is stored at my parent’s place. My cousin then sends me pictures of his Flighlight Fin Styling lights with original lens and measurements, and they are indeed the exact same lights. So I run back to the old bike shop. Since these were not bike related, Jeff kindly offers me the pair of lights.

I was still smiling about this even days after it happened. Just the fact that something cool and rare like this happens when you least expected. Here you find a light that belongs on a rare Flightlight Fin Styling for a vintage boat trailer and a Tee Nee teardrop fender and in a vintage bike shop. That’s pretty damn cool. Just wanted to share my story with y’all. Thought you might enjoy this.

Ya mean,...Like this???
The picture is of the back side because it is so high up on the wall, but I can get it down if requested.
I 'think" the center that covers the nut says Glasspar.

PM me if it is what you seek.

You are awesome doc, hope that's what he needs....now back to trailers.....
Eduardo, hilarious this happened, fun story. I always find comfort that my old boat and irrational need to make them new affliction finds good company here. That said, although every old boat I have is sitting on a correct old trailer I have not got bit by the trailer bug to appreciate the nuances, style and design so in my case they never get the attention the boats and motors do....I fear you have shown me yet another dark avenue of future pursuit.
I guess the good news is the less people looking means more finds for those that are so I' ll try and stay away! Ha.

David, I hope you find a staff for your bow light; you just don’t see these very often. I’ll keep an eye out for one.

Greg, there you go. You might have just found that rope steering wheel after all. Hope it works out with you and Thom.

This is what is so great about this community, helping a fellow glasshead. Very cool of you Thom.

Randy, my first trailer I did was a ’65 Shoreline under our ’65 Starcraft Bahama. I painted her yellow after the likes of Gator and Tee Nee. When I acquired a ’56 Gator 214 trailer and started the restoration process on her, you really appreciate the small details they did on these old boat trailers. I think from the beginning, I was always intrigued by these vintage trailers, and in my honest opinion, they complete the look overall with an old boat.

Frog,
My computer crashed and I have lost all of my email,...among other things.
I got my 'puter back this evening, and still haven't figured out the email.
I really don't want to publish my phone number - especially now that my personal info has been stolen by computer rats from India.
Dave B knows my number, so if you can contact him, he can give you my phone number.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but I've been really 'beat up' the last (2) days by these rats.
