I'm definitely going to hit this show up. My birthday is that week so my wife can't say no. Can't bring the boat because she isn't done but if anyone else is going we can meet up and grab beers.

Look at the fleet of boats in the Water Friday.

Pick one that you always wanted to ride on.

See if the owner is planning on going on the 2 hour cruise at 2:00 PM Friday.

Ask if he has room for you to ride in his boat for the cruise.

A bunch of boats go for this river cruise, and most boat owners are pleased that you like their boat and want to ride along.

It is an easy way to get out on the water and experience one additional aspect of the Festival.

Boats for display and use at the show are separate from Boats for Sale. There are 9 footballs fields of grass area, so they are shown in different areas.

I am writing the "User Boat" PropTalk article now. Pictures and ideas are welcome.

To get all my work done soon (between the Vintage Race Boat Regatta last weekend and the ACBS Mt. Dora/Tavares/Sunnyland show) and have all pages properly into PropTalK for the free magazine that is ready for pick up on May 15, 2015 around the Chesapeake Bay.

Writers for print work well ahead, as their employers have long lead times.

YO,
seabuddy, is this not the show you are talking about? Looks like a ACBS show to me. Please explain, I'm confused.

It is an in-correct idea to look at another Chapter (club) of the 57 ACBS clubs and apply their club rules, mind-sets, and attitude towards how another club chooses to enjoy older boats.

I remind everyone that that reads this that we (Chesapeake Bay Chapter) were the club that joined with a G-3 owners club and have a proud photo of 19 G-3s at a past show.ACBS is 57 clubs banded for insurance purposes under one umbrella ACBS International.

If you have not went one of our events, I suggest that you maybe pleasantly surprised with the warm welcome and a pleasant experience.

Each club has their own rules, bylaws, and runs their own club. Roughly 300 hundred of us run own club our way and have done so for over 25-30 years. International and all the clubs together have about 7,500 members.

We use and pay for their great insurance for club business meetings and events like Boat Shows, cruises, lunch meetings.

What is your question?

Wow what brought on that rant? There was no comparison being made, or conclusions being jumped to. Just a request for clarification of event details.

Let me try again in certain terms.
The location and dates you give are listed on the CBMM website as the "28th Annual Antique & Classic Boat Festival" Hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society (ACBS). Not "User Fiberglass Boat Show and Festival" as you listed it here. Is this an error, a different name for the same thing, something being run in parallel, or other?

Are you referring to this announcement?

"Wooden classics, vintage race boats, and other antique and Chesapeake Bay-related boats are coming to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for the 28th annual Antique & Classic Boat Festival in St. Michaels, MD. Hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society (ACBS), this Father’s Day weekend event brings an era of by-gone days to the Miles River and CBMM’s waterfront campus.

This year, the festival features a selection of Chesapeake Bay-built workboats, including the Chesapeake deadrise and buy boat seen dockside at the museum. Along with the East Coast’s largest collection of antique and classic boats, the festival’s signature Arts at Navy Point pavilion brings 70 juried fine artists, craftspeople, and vendors offering nautical and maritime-themed items for boat and home.

Boats range from runabouts to yachts, including race boats, work boats, launches, hydroplanes, and utilities. Workshops and seminars, building demonstrations, family activities, and a nautical flea market will be available throughout the weekend, along with a selection of regional and grilled foods, music, and a Pyrat rum bar for libations and other drinks.

Children’s activities include boatbuilding craft projects, and the Hagerty Insurance Marine Youth Judging program, where youth learn about the award-winning qualities of preserved and restored classic boats. Along the Fogg’s Landing side of CBMM’s campus, the festival’s Field of Dreams features an array of restorable classic boats and motors, along with other items in a nautical flea market sale."

seabuddy, you didn't answer L98TPI.
He asked you a legitimate question in post 107636, you go on a rant in 107652.
He asks you a direct question again, then your next post ignores his question and basically advertises for ACBS.
