I attended a ACBS Blackhawk Chapter Event here last week and I wanted to share the interesting story.

Larry Larkin who is one of the founders of our ACBS chapter gave a fascinating presentation on his restoration of the historic “Hathor” at a meeting of the Packards of Chicagoland Car Club.

terridi,

WOW. That's downright PURTY.

I wish that I had the lines off that boat, as I have a rebuildable 65HP DEUTZ diesel engine that would be perfect to power a long/slim hull like that. - In point of fact, I'd bet that a 50HP diesel driving a reduction gear/big prop would "ghost it right along" up to the approximate hull speed of 9.6 knots W/O bothering anyone with noise and/or the wake AND be really cheap to operate too.

yours, satx

Hello Bob,

I have spent time cruising aboard ‘Hathor’ and she is an awesome boat. Geneva Lake has days when the water can be extremely rough and these boats slice through it with ease.

Satx,

Bill Anderson posted a picture of a boat he came across the other day at the FGC site. Maybe this would fit that DUETZ. I believe the guy is trying to sell it too.

Hey Ron,

Yeah it was a bit corny but it was all good fun. This restoration was a monumental undertaking and the launch of the 113 year old vessel called for a celebration.

It was a big party with entertainment and what’s a party without some dancing girls?

The program with the folks in costumes helped tell the great story of ‘Hathor’

Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love, music and beauty.

I think I can see a resemblance.

Dozens of these boats once plied the waters of Lake Geneva and today only five remain in their original form.

I will post more on ‘Sea Lark’ pictured here alongside ‘Hathor’

Thanks,
Terry
