TOPIC: Where to get Instrument mounts

One thing what are these called? after reading up seems its not very reliable to re-chrome these but I think they are really cool.
Who made these? I see them on many different boats and some with the small gauge size also not just the 3" size.

1. Find a supply of NOS or remanufactured
2. Have a foundry scan, clean up, product new ones to be chromed

Gauge clusters? Bezels, maybe

Really think those are trim from the boat maker to fit gauges, not really a part of the gauge themselves.

Aluminum or ceramic silver powder coat instead of rechrome?

Yes I may sand and paint these or look at powder coat but I would like to find some chrome ones and also the smaller size one, they are cool because they are customizable to add multiple guages.

Try trim rings too

those cool old mounts according to peter hunn (tail fins and two tones) were made by aqua meter....we have a section with a cigarette lighter and one with a pocket to hold a well folded boat registration....found those on a 57/58 whitehouse...john

Thanks John, mine had aqua meter instruments in it but the compass was a richie, they are cool since you can add different bezels to the group and all the options as you say and just put the end pieces on. good to hear who made them that will help with a NOS search.
