I remember when I purchased my 64 Deluxe the seller mentioned something about using 5200 when I replaced the deck.
Being a pure novice to boat repair I thought...
"What the @#$% is 5200?"

After 2.5 years of work on the old girl I know what it is...

$5200 I've spent on wood, fiberglass, acetone, parts, tools, etc.

5200 hours of my life I've spent grinding, sanding, painting, fixin

5200 times I've had to climb in and out of the boat...

5200 times Rosie has asked when it will be done...

5200 mistakes I've made along the way...

and 5200 words of encouragement and advice from you guys!

Thanks for everything

That’s good stuff Andrew,

My take on those absolutes is:

$5200 I've spent on wood, fiberglass, acetone, parts, tools, etc.
(Hey at least you know where your money went)

5200 hours of my life I've spent grinding, sanding, painting, fixin
(All fun stuff right?)

5200 times I've had to climb in and out of the boat...
(A good work out)

5200 times Rosie has asked when it will be done...
(5200 times you could show Rosie the progress you’ve made)

5200 mistakes I've made along the way...
(5200 mistakes you will never make again)

and 5200 words of encouragement and advice from you guys!
(And an easy 5200 times you hear the words “Nice Boat!” out on the water)

Thanks,
Terry

3M 5200 preserves wooden boats for future generations. Sure, in 75 years (of good care), some of the wood will still need to be replaced (by removal with a chain saw) but more importantly, the boat will STILL EXIST 75 years from now! 5200 users are preservationists! I'm excited! I'm going right outside to hug a tree.

Robert, Not only up a ladder, climbing in but laying down on your back under the deck with a dim light and finding that the wrench or screwdriver, wire crimper etc. is still sitting on top of the dash.

One thing about 3M 5200. Better be sure that whatever you stick on with 5200 is not something you want to remove at some future point. It will be there for 5200 years! The stuff is nearly impossible to remove.
