Yes they do. They're also big in chroming hot rod parts, concourse collector car parts, etc..

WoodGlass,

You may consider finding nice replacements for some of the parts you want to re-plate. Most boat builders utilized generic or "off the shelf" hardware on their products. Some manufactures did have proprietary hardware, but those are few compared to the others. Cleats, chocks, lights, gauges, etc. were commonly sourced from vendors that sold the same parts to other builders. It is often possible to find nice or even New Old Stock replacements of these items on Ebay. It can take a little time, but in most cases the effort is worth it. Having old parts re-plated is a bit of a gamble. The price of having chrome work done is often more than the cost of purchasing New Old Stock parts - if they can be sourced. Another important factor is that during the process of re-plating, fine details of the part can be unintentionally sanded/buffed away. This can alter the original look of the part, and in some cases can actually look horrible. Pitted Zinc (pot metal) parts are very difficult to re-plate without grinding away a lot of fine detail. Bronze and Brass parts plate very nicely and will likely hold the plating in a "like new" condition for decades. All of this is just a long winded way of saying "see if you can get other ones first" before re-plating, if at all possible.

Bruce, that would be my first choice and I know it would be cheaper, but I think in this case it may be unavoidable. I am talking about the shiny parts on my performer. I have been very vigilant hunting for parts for me and information to share with the glassics Library . in 2years . I have come up nearly empty handed . I'm not giving up,only getting started. I did find one thing to share, and I will as soon as I get home and am able to use my scanner.

I Get it - I had a Performer Havoc that I tried and tried to get emblems for (they were missing) but never had any luck. Frustrating me was that I had seen them pop up on Ebay (NOS!!) a few times in previous years. Try to post some photos of what you need - myself and many others have a pretty good stash of parts on hand. Maybe we have something that you need. You never know.

I have all of her parts,or at least I think I do. The nav light may not be correct but it is a nice one. But what I do have is pitted and some corrosion .I did just find a piece that might not be correct for the seven seas model it's supposed to go in the top center of the rear seat. but even this piece needs some help I don't know if mine would have used this one or not but I like it and will try to use it on my project. the original parts I have are pitted much worse than this one

Now that's a cool trim piece! (Medallion ?) I love the intricate detail, but tough to even "buff out" without losing some of it's detail as Bruce warned. Maybe send them a pic and ask for a quote and an example of similar work they've done?

I did see on here that someone was casting new pieces out of brass and chroming them, but he needed the originals to make a mold.I can't find the post. Cost might make it an issue. I think he was from California?

We reproduce vintage boat emblems in SAND CAST BRASS and trim pieces in SAND CAST ALUMINUM. The emblems will need to be chrome plated.
Small script is sometimes not perfect on the reproductions.
